About 1,290 people will die of CML (740 men and 550 women).
CML accounts for around 15% of all new cases of leukemia in the US each year. About 1 person in 500 will get CML in their lifetime.
The average age at diagnosis of CML is around 66 years. This type of leukemia mainly affects older adults, but about 2% of cases are in people younger than 20.
